Internship offered by Universidad Autonoma de Madrid, Spain

The Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM) is seeking students/interns for the organisation of a summer school. Interns will work closely with the Director of the summer school. The internship should take place in the first half of 2020, duration between 3 and 6,5 months. For full information, please see here.

WiSo@NYC: Application now open on WEX

Lead by local professors, but organized under the University of Cologne's administrative umbrella, WiSo@NYC offers a unique six-week study abroad experience in the City of New York, including co-curricular excursions and corporate visits. Application is now open and will close 2 February 2020.

New cooperation: University of St. Andrews, UK

Nestled on the east coast of Scotland, the University of St Andrews has a world-class reputation and is a unique place to study and live. The School of Economics and Finance has been ranked as the top economics department in the UK according to the Guardian University League Tables 2020 and second best according to the latest Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide. The University of St Andrews itself has been named UK University of the Year.

From the academic year 2020/21 on, the University of St. Andrews is available for an exchange term for bachelor students (Economics) within the ‘STAP programme‘ that is run by the WiSo Faculty’s International Relations Center (ZIB WiSo).

New Cooperation: Kobe University, Japan

Students of the WiSo Faculty within the bachelors and masters programmes in Economics can do an exchange term within ZIB WiSo's  ‘STAP programme' at the Faculty of Economics, Kobe University starting in 2020/21.

Kobe University is one of the oldest and largest national universities in Japan. Located beside the foothills of Mount Rokkō, the university provides a view of the city and port of Kobe, providing a privileged environment for the pursuit of academic studies. It comprises 14 graduate schools and 11 undergraduate faculties, and holds about 16,000 students enrolled in undergraduate and graduate programs. Through multi-faceted academic exchanges with major overseas universities in joint research and collaborative education, Kobe University acts as a ‘hub campus’ that attracts talented personnel from around the world and equips students with an international perspective.

New Cooperation with School of Economics, University College of Dublin, Ireland

As of the start of the academic year of 2020/2021, Economics bachelor students of the WiSo Faculty have the opportunity for an exchange semester within the ZIB WiSo's  ‘STAP programme' at the University College of Dublin (UCD) Ireland.

The WiSo Faculty has signed a new agreement with UCD’s School of Economics in addition to the already existing agreements in other subject areas.

Founded in 1854 UCD now draws over 30,000 students from over 139 countries per year, including almost 5,000 students based at locations outside of Ireland and it is Ireland's largest university. UCD is also Ireland's most globally engaged university, with a current ranking within the top 1% of higher education institutions world-wide. UCD has Ireland’s leading economics department. Its economists are experts with international reputations in a wide range of topics such as macroeconomics, econometrics, applied microeconomics, international trade, behavioural economics, health economics and economic history.

New Cooperation: Tampere University, Finland

Starting from fall term 2020/21, bachelor and master students of the WiSo Faculty have the possibility to spend an exchange term within the ZIB WiSo's  ‘STAP programme' at Tampere University, Finland in the study area of Political Sciences.

Tampere University is one of the most multidisciplinary universities in Finland. Almost all internationally recognised fields of study are represented at the university, where research groups and projects conduct multidisciplinary research across institutional boundaries.
Tampere university is building a new model for higher education and research in Finland. Tampere University brings together research and education, for example, in the fields of economics, technology, health and society. Tampere University and Tampere University of Applied Sciences constitute the Tampere university community which  includes 30,000 students.

ERASMUS+ funding for internships abroad

Do you plan to take an internship abroad this summer? Apply for ERASMUS+ funding!
Internships eligible for ERASMUS funding need to fulfill the following criteria:

  • internship length: min. 2 months
  • internship place: in a ERASMUS country
  • internship salary: allowed (amount depends on country)
  • application for ERASMUS funding: before the start of the internship

For further information, please check the ‘Guide for ERASMUS+ internships 2018 19’. The ERASMUS funding opportunities are as well available for internships that take place later in fall/winter 2019/20.

New Cooperation: Queen’s University, Canada

Students of the WiSo Faculty can do an exchange term within the ZIB WiSo’s ‘STAP programme‘ at the Smith School of Business, Queen’s University starting in 2019/20.

The Smith School of Business has earned international recognition for its innovative approaches to business education and has been a pioneer in the areas of team-based and experiential learning. With a faculty team renowned for its business experience and academic credentials, the School is home to Canada's most prestigious undergraduate business programme, highly acclaimed MBA programmes and several other outstanding graduate programmes.

Queen's University, home of Smith, has a rich academic tradition dating back to 1841. Located in Kingston, Ontario — one of Canada's most vibrant small cities — Queen’s is consistently ranked among Canada's very best universities.

New Cooperation in Economics with Université Paris 1 Sorbonne-Panthéon

With eight hundred years of excellence to build on, the University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, is one of the most famous and largest universities in France. Some forty thousand students are enrolled on 14 teaching and research departments and five Institutes The university is located in the heart of Paris.
The economics department at the Université Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne has more than 4000 students. Its high quality in research and training methods and facilities makes it one of the leading institutions in economics in France. 

Starting from spring 2020, Panthéon-Sorbonne will be available for an exchange term for WiSo Economics students (bachelor and master) within the ‘STAP programme‘ that is run by the ZIB WiSo.

New Partnership with University of Amsterdam

The Faculty of Economics and Business was established in 1922. It now has around 5,000 students and nearly 20% of the first-year enrolment are international students. With internationalization being a keyword at UvA Economics & Business,  staff, student body, degree programs and research all have a strong international focus. In addition to an emphasis on research, the UvA Economics and Business also has close ties to the domestic and international business community, thus giving education a direct link with practice. The University of Amsterdam will be available for an exchange term for WiSo Economics students within the ‘STAP programme‘  that is run by the ZIB WiSo.

Cornell University first US member of the CEMS alliance

Students enrolled in the CEMS MIM at the University of Cologne will soon be able to apply to study at Cornell for their term abroad. The Cornell SC Johnson College of Business will be the first US business school to join CEMS – the Global Alliance in Management Education. The collaboration will provide the opportunity for CEMS MIM students at the University of Cologne who wish to gain part of their business education from a US Ivy League school. Students study the CEMS curriculum for one term at their home university, with mandatory study abroad in a different CEMS member school for the second term. New Partnership with City University of Hong Kong (CityU), College of Business

From the academic year 2019/20 on, City U will be available for an exchange term for bachelor students (Business & Economics) within the ‘STAP programme‘ that is run by the WiSo Faculty’s International Relations Center (ZIB WiSo).

City University of Hong Kong was founded in 1984 as City Polytechnic of Hong Kong and became a fully accredited university in 1994. It is one of Hong Kong’s eight government-funded degree-granting tertiary institutions. CityU’s College of Business holds EQUIS and AACSB accreditations and has consistently been ranked as a world top tier business schools in recent years. CityU is located at the heart of Hong Kong - a fast- paced cosmopolitan and exciting city with over seven million people that is a gateway to China and a hub of international transportation, communication and commerce.

New Partnership with Nottingham Trent University (Nottingham Business School)

From the academic year 2019/20 on, Nottingham Business School will be available for an exchange term for  master and bachelor students (Business & Economics) within the WiSo Faculty‘s STAP programme.

Nottingham Business School is the business school of the Nottingham Trent University.  It was formed from the university's departments of industrial economics, accounting and insurance and its Institute of Management Studies. Nottingham Business School is an international leader in finance and management education and a research pioneer in entrepreneurship, innovation and sustainability. The university is ranked sixth in the UK for research power which reflects the quality and influence of their research. The 2008 Times Good University Guide ranked the Business School sixth among UK management schools. Nottingham Business School is EQUIS and AACSB accredited and ranks overall 45th in the world and 1st in the UK in the Aspen Institute's 2011–2012.

New graduate exchange with Hong Kong University of Science & Technology, HKUST Business School

From the academic year 2019/20 on, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, HKUST Business School will be available for an exchange term for Business and Economics master students within the Faculty‘s STAP programme.

Founded in 1991, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) is today approved as one of the best young universities. It outdoes many of its counterparts in terms of rankings, for instance, the 1st in Times's Best young universities rankings in 2018 and 2nd in the QS Top 50 Under 50 from 2015 to 2018 successively.

The HKUST Business School was the first business school in the region accredited by both AACSB and EQUIS. It is strategically located at the heart of Asia's economic center. At HKUST, students not only enjoy access to a unique fusion of East-meets-West, but also excellent proximity to China and the opportunity to experience the vitality of one of the world's most important economies.

After logging in using your student or university email account, it is possible to search via applicant group, university or region.
